Coalition Childhood 2025 is an alliance of civil society organisations, networks and individuals working on the process of deinstitutionalisation. This process represents the active replacement of existing institutional care for children with care in the family or near-family settings in the community. Deinstitutionalisation is not just about removing children from institutions. It involves both preventing new placements and creating new opportunities to support every child and family in the community.
What is our mission?
Our main mission is to work for a sustainable process of deinstitutionalisation by developing individual care for all children and providing the necessary guaranteе for the fulfillment of their rights. We work to ensure that families in need receive adequate support and that every child has the opportunity to grow up and develop in the most suitable family environment.
What is our main principle?
Our main principle is to use the successes achieved in the first stage of the Action Plan to the National Strategy "Vision for Deinstitutionalisation of Children in the Republic of Bulgaria" (2010 – 2014), as well as the lessons learned from the implementation of the Strategy, building on them and putting prevention at the core of all our actions through the support for children and families.
