Summary:Statement on the process of mass relocation of children from the closing 8 Institutions for medicalised social care to the remaining 4. The Coalition believes that it will be extremely traumatic for children to have to adapt without the necessary preparation for relocation and without the necessary individualised care, given the size of the receiving institutions. In order to avoid moving twice the most fragile children who need permanent medical care, from one institution to another, and then to a Centre for specialised health and social care for children with disabilities requiring permanent medical care, the coalition members insist on using the precedent that happened in the closure of the 8 pilot Institutions for medicalised social care under the national "Direction: family" project (2012-2015).
Purpose:To conduct an expert assessment of the health status of the children in the institutions, on the basis of which plans should be drawn up for the relocation of all children who do not need permanent medical care to a family or close-to-family environment. External independent medical experts to be involved. The Coalition members are ready to assist with their resources and expertise.
