Summary:Bulgaria has seen a significant increase in the number of families facing extreme hardship due to sudden loss of income, food shortages and lack of access to basic services related to health, education, social support and care. The Coalition has sounded the alarm that there is currently increasing insecurity, both in terms of meeting their basic needs and realising their fundamental human rights, and in terms of the overburdened social system and the difficulties that have arisen in the functioning of many social services as a result of the measures introduced to curb Covid-19.
Purpose:Given the state of emergency, and in order to prevent serious risks to children and their families, the Coalition calls for its specific proposals to be taken into account, and declares its readiness to participate in discussions on any specific measure and policy concerning children and families.
