"Therapeutic" residential care, part two. First results of the application of the model

Summary:The introduction of the model of therapeutic care began in October 2016. By the end of 2017, the main elements included in the framework of interventions of the "therapeutic" model were introduced in the four residential centres for children without disabilities managed by the ISS – Bulgaria. An assessment was made of the degree to which the elements of the model were introduced. The effect of overall participation in the project on the researched individuals was examined. The introduction of the model has contributed to a change in adult-child and adult-adult relationships in the direction of understanding the difficult behavior of children and adolescents during their life history, related to experiencing difficult life situations. Participation in the project has reduced the tension and anxiety of adults working with children in the Central Children's Center, brought them together, contributed to the building of teamwork and mutual understanding and trust.

Purpose:Description of the specific results achieved during the first year of implementation of the "therapeutic" residential care model in the services managed by the ISS – Bulgaria in Targovishte and Smolyan.
